Repair Service Overview
When you book a repair service with Mr Tech Reading, you authorise our technicians to inspect, test, and repair your device as required. Repairs may involve opening the device, replacing components, or carrying out diagnostic procedures to identify faults.
While we take great care with every device, customers should understand that electronic repairs involve technical risks, especially for older devices or those affected by physical or liquid damage.
Diagnostic and Labour Charges
Some repairs require diagnostic testing to identify the issue. If diagnostic work has been carried out and you decide not to continue with the repair, a £10 labour fee will be charged. This fee covers the time and expertise required to inspect and assess the device and is non-refundable.
If the repair proceeds successfully, any diagnostic charge may be adjusted toward the final repair cost, where applicable.
Liquid Damage Repairs
Devices affected by liquid or moisture damage require extensive inspection and testing. A non-refundable inspection or labour fee may apply to all liquid damage repairs.
Due to the unpredictable nature of liquid damage, a successful repair cannot be guaranteed. If the repair is unsuccessful after inspection and attempted repair, no refund will be issued for the testing or labour already carried out.
Repair Refunds
Repair services are non-refundable once the repair has been completed. If a device is repaired and returned in working condition, the repair fee cannot be refunded.
If you choose not to proceed after diagnostics or inspection, the applicable labour charge will still apply, and the device will be returned in its current condition.
Screen and LCD Repairs
All screens and LCDs are tested before installation. However, screen and LCD repairs do not include warranty coverage for physical damage such as cracks, scratches, pressure damage, or liquid exposure after repair.We accept faulty screen or LCD claims within a short period of 3 days, provided the screen or LCD is returned in the same condition as fitted and accompanied by the original receipt. Any damage caused after installation will void this acceptance.
Pre-Existing and Additional Faults
We are not responsible for faults that existed before the repair but were not initially visible, or faults that arise due to the age, condition, or previous damage of the device. Some issues may only become apparent once the device has been opened.
If additional faults are discovered during the repair process, further work may be required, and additional charges may apply. Customers will be informed where possible before proceeding.
Data Responsibility
Customers are responsible for backing up all personal data before submitting a device for repair. Mr Tech Reading does not accept responsibility for any data loss, corruption, or deletion during the repair process.
SIM cards, memory cards, and removable accessories should be removed before handing over the device. We are not liable for loss or damage to items left inside the device.
Device Collection Policy
Customers are required to call us before coming to collect their device to confirm that the repair is completed and ready for collection. This helps avoid unnecessary delays and ensures smooth service.
When collecting a device, customers must present their repair receipt or job reference number to prevent unauthorised collections.
Uncollected Devices
Once notified that a repair is complete, customers are expected to collect their device promptly. Devices not collected within 28 days of completion may be recycled, sold, or disposed of to recover repair and storage costs. We will attempt to contact customers before taking such action.
Policy Updates
Mr Tech Reading reserves the right to amend or update this Repair & Refund Policy at any time without prior notice. Any changes will be published on this page.
